Makeup (Products) Of The Day

So, for this post I decided to tell you guys what I wore today. It's not anything over the top, well my definition of over the top includes eyeshadow- so this is not. However, I did decide to contour and highlight so I guess that makes up for it? Anyway, on to the post, here is a list of the products that I used today :) xx

Colourpop Haul & Shipping to the UK!

The excitement is so real right now! Well, it has been since I got my parcel and probably will be for quite a while! I am so excited for this post and I hope you are too! 

So first thing's first (I'm the realist), how did I ship Colourpop to the UK? As many of you know Colourpop don't ship outside the USA, heartbreaking, I know. But don't fear I've got your back!

I used Comgateway to ship my products- here. This service provides you with a free locker in America, where you can ship your products to, then the company- Comgateway will ship your parcel to your country. All the things I bought pictured about weight 240 grams, and the shipping cost is £18 for up to 500 grams. To add some weight, my friend also ordered a few things to my locker, and we split the shipping cost, so it worked out cheaper for both of us. 

Now on to the fun stuff! I bought four super shock eyeshadows and one lippie stix, and I freakin' love everything! Both of these products are $5 each which is equivalent to £3.45. Another thing I love about Colourpop is the fact that they have swatches of their products on different skin tones, so it makes it for shoppers. Usually when online shopping I'm always hesitant to buy products because I'm just not sure whether it would suit me, but I didn't have a problem at all with this order. Seriously, more brands need to start doing this.  I'm not gonna write a paragraph for each product about how much I love them, because I'd probably run out of adjectives. 

This is the shade Gameface, which is a beautiful copper shade. When I first found out about these eyeshadows, everyone was saying how hard it was to describe their texture. Psssht, who are they kidding, surely it can't be that hard? It is. 

It's very soft, like feathers and it's quite bouncy, it's also creamy at the same time. I'm doing a rubbish job of describing it already. Though I haven't tried creating an eye look with the shadows, when I was trying to remove the swatches, they were quite hard to remove, so that shows that they are long lasting. I think the formulation of these eyeshadows are amazing and very unique! 

Here are swatches of the other shades I purchased. 

Shade:  Bandit. This has a matte finish, making it the perfect transition shade. 

Shade : Envy. This is a gorgeous deep purple with specs of purple glitter. 

Shade : Mooning. This is bronze/brown eyesahdow which has specs of purple glitter. This eyeshadow had a little bit of an accident on the journey- the eyeshadow had got got all crumbly in the pot,  but because of the formulation of the eyeshadow I could press it back into the pot.

Lastly I bought a lippie stix in the shade LBB. This was created by the blogger Jill Wallace- here. This colour is the perfect plum/magenta shade, when I tried it on it was love at first sight. It has a matte finish but it doesn't make your lips go all dry. I made my sister wear this, now she's not one to comment on any of the makeup I force her to put on, but with this one she said 'this is so soft'. Now, I don't know what she means by soft, but I know it's a positive comment, because she even got the Ipad out and started looking for more shades on the Colourpop website. 

So, all in all, Colourpop get a 10/10 from me. I'm not disappointed with anything I bought, and I would definitely recommend their products to anyone. For the price of their products it's totally worth it. Okay, now I'm running out of praise, I hope this has convinced some of you to purchase from colourpop!

Drugstore Haul!

Maybe not good for my bank account? But definitely good for my soul (or so I tell myself). So the purpose of this shopping trip was to buy a few gifts for my cousin, but obviously I ended up buying a few things for myself because I just love me a good bargain, I mean come on , who doesn't?! 

Being a girl of colour, I always find it difficult to find products in the drugstore which actually suit my skin tone. So when I see something in Boots or Superdrug that actually compliments me, I don't really hesitate to buy it. Though most of the products I bought will look good on most skin tones, I hope this helps some of you who are in the same boat as me.

So first of all, from The Bodyshop I bought the Grooving Gold eye shadow palette. I don't think they stock this product anymore as I couldn't find it on the website, but I managed to find it on amazon- here. The day I bought this I had a 30% off everything in store code (including sale)- which meant that I actually got this palette for £5.60 because it was already on sale.            

Now on to the eye shadows themselves, they actually don't have individual names so I'll explain by position. So, on the top left is a rose gold colour but more rosey than gold, it is quite pigmented and has a soft buttery texture, it is the first swatch above. Secondly, top right is a purple/taupe colour I found when I was swatching this eyeshadow it was quite dry beyond the top layer, also it's pigment wasn't the strong. Thirdly, bottom right, the colour that catched my eye. This shade looked purple when I first saw it but after swatching it, I found it was highly pigmented with purple specs and when blended it turned into more of a dark brown with purple pigment glistening. And finally, it's just your standard gold, personally I would use this as a inner corner brightening shade because I find it would be too light for my entire lid. All in all, though the palette is good I would not have bought it for the original price of £16 (I think it was that anyway).

The photo doesn't do any justice for this blush, it's freakin' beautiful. It's the Maxfactor blush in gorgeous berries- here. I never really wear blush, I find them either too light for me and wash me out or they just don't go with my makeup. But this blush is amazing! I think it's a blush that will look good on all skin tones. I bought this for my cousin who is a baked blush lover, though she had only used it once, she said she loved it too! So if you're on the hunt for a blush, but can't find the perfect one I'd really recommend this one and it's only £6.99 so you can't really go wrong, right? Definitely deserves a 10/10 from me!

Also from Boots, I bought this Revlon matte balm in sultry- here. Lip products are also another product which I find SO hard to shop for at the drugstore. Also, I hadn't really tried any matte lip products so I'd thought I'd give this ago to see if I like them or not. Initially I'd thought they'd be really drying on your lips, but the formula of this isn't too bad, it's more balmy than matte. Also the shade is actually quite similar to the blush I bought. It's not a bright pink shade, it's more subtle but it has brown undertones which I think compliments my skin better. Sometimes I had a few spots of a darker lip gloss to make it darker, and if I don't want it to look matte I would add some lip balm as well. Though I haven't tried out this product for an entire day, I don't think it would completely rubbish, for the price it is a good purchase.

Finally the liquid products. Firstly is The Bodyshop eau de toilette- here. The link shows a different bottle, a much prettier one too but I think it's the same product. I got this after discount for £4.20, from £18. I would not have paid the full price for it but it's still a great scent for those days when you don't want to use your designer perfumes. I would describe the scent (a rubbish description too) but we all know what Japanese cherry blossom smells like, right?

Secondly is the Maxfactor miracle match foundation in Tawny- here. I actually haven't tried this product yet but if it is any good, I will mention in it a future blog post. Finally, I also bought The Bodyshop shade adjusting drops. As I've mentioned throught this whole post my colour matching problems in the drugstore, foundation is always a problem too. I have heard a lot about these drops from various bloggers and youtubers, who have all found them amazing. I am yet to try this, and like the foundation, if it is any good I will mention it in a future blog post!

Aaaaand that's it! I hope you found something that you may like to buy on your next shopping trip here, if I had to choose one product out of everything it would definitely be the blush! If you do end up buying anything, let me know if you liked them in the comments below.
